KASAPDÖNER
THE FIRST DÖNER BRAND IN ITS HOME COUNTRY
Every country has its specialty. Italy has the pizza, America has the hamburger, and Turkey has the döner (aka shawarma). While burger brands like McDonald's and Burger King dominate the Turkish fast food market, there has never been a doner brand. KasapDöner emerged as a successful franchise, reminding people of their local fast food and becoming the fastest-growing franchise in Turkey.

The Name
KasapDöner is made of 2 words. The word "kasap" means "butcher". The founders have been butchers for three generations since 1946, so I wanted to highlight their expertise and heritage. This is also reflected in the logo design.
The Launch Campaign
CUTTING THROUGH THE NOISE
We launched the brand with a bold and controversial campaign built on the political and social tensions between Turkey and the West. Each image featured the doner knife knife that has cut through an object that represented the Western culture. It generated a huge buzz and made KasapDoner the talk of the town overnight.
